The Top 5 Sports with the best Pub atmospheres!

blog3pic6

Watching sports live is a completely different experience than watching sports on TV. But which sports are better to watch from a seat in the stadium and which are better to watch from your local pub or at home?

5. Football (Soccer)

Even though football is the most popular sport in the world by far, the atmosphere at the local pub doesn’t have the same impact as the other sports on this list. There are some cases in which football has great atmospheres due to close games in big games, however with the new technology and new antics of diving and poor sportsmanship has seen a decrease in ultimate atmosphere effect.blog3pic2

4. AFL

AFL isn’t necessarily the greatest sport for the atmosphere however due to the rough nature and the way the game is played can bring out a great atmosphere in a bar. With players throwing themselves in harms way for their team and when games are close, AFL’s atmosphere can easily come alive.AFL Rd 8 - Sydney v Hawthorn

3. NFL

America’s biggest sport has some of the biggest crowds at the game and on the couch even for the regular games. The big hits, spectacular catches and touchdowns all add the the already amazing atmosphere. blog3pic5

2. BOXING

Boxing is one of the biggest sports that people watch and love to put a bet on. The fact that it may end in the first 30 seconds or may last 12 rounds is a big bonus for the sport which makes viewers pay attention for the whole thing.

1. UFC

UFC, just like boxing, ends unexpectedly and gets viewers on the edge of their seats. The brutal nature of this sport with massive personalities such as, Conor McGregor, draws in all types of spectators and the massively publicised weigh-ins and press conferences also helps hype up the final fight.

Does Alcohol make you a better Sports Punter?!

Does Alcohol make people better sports punters or does it give false hope?

Alcohol is a beverage enjoyed by many friends and families across the world, especially during sporting events. Alcohol is the go to type of beverage while watching sports and is usually due to the “over-confidence” many people get while drinking. Many people with a ‘new found confidence’ begin to believe they know every little detail about every sport and become the smartest, most wise sports punters, coaches and managers in the world.

Most of the time, people will believe they can bet on any type of sports event known to man and make abit of money, this however is the alcohol giving false hope. While some bets do come to a profit for the punter, a majority of punters will experience a loss in their bets. The alcohol actually slows down the users brain activity, which can lead to making poor decisions and will definitely give a boost in confidence.

Alcohol does ‘NOT’ make anyone a better punter.

Drink responsibly and if gambling/betting, gamble responsibly!

The Top 3 things to watch out for in the Nations League this Summer.

  1. The World Cup Semi-final Rematch.

England will want to act revenge against the might of Croatia as they meet on Friday
night in the Nations League. Croatia has started extremely poorly with a 6-0 drubbing by Spain in the first match-up and will want to bounce back against a team they beat in the World cup Semi-finals. “We know what happened in the summer,” Harry Kane said. “It will be nice to try and get our own back.”

  1. Russia’s Renaissance to continue?

Sweden head to Kalingrad on Thursday ranked 31 places higher than their opponents but Russia, in 46th, look well placed to make a mockery of the FIFA standings. Russia have continued to ride the wave of optimism following the remarkable run into the World cup quarter finals and after beating Turkey in a close 2-1 victory, the confidence continues to grow.

  1. Irish sighs as Denmark Visit

The Republic of Ireland have unhappy memories of their last meeting with Denmark, who sealed their World cup place with a thumping play-off victory in Dublin last year. Christian Eriksen scored a brilliant hat-trick as Denmark romped to a easy 5-1 victory, leaving the Irish squad and coaching staff a mess. After reports of multiple falling out’s of players with coaching staff, the republic of Ireland will be focusing on getting a better result than the last.
